It can be difficult amid all of the chaos in Washington to follow what your Missouri representatives in Congress are doing in the nation’s capital.
For Missourians looking to contact or keep in touch with their representatives in Washington, The Beacon created a quick contact list that includes the information you need to know.
Missouri has six Republicans and two Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives. Both of the state’s U.S. senators are Republican.
Find your representative
Republican Sens. Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt represent the entire state in the Senate. Democratic Reps. Emanuel Cleaver and Wesley Bell represent Kansas City and St. Louis, respectively, in the House. The rest of the House delegation — Reps. Mark Alford, Eric Burlison, Sam Graves, Bob Onder, Jason Smith and Ann Wagner — are Republican.
To reach Missouri’s representatives in Washington about an issue, contact both senators and your local representative. To find who represents your district, enter your address on Congress.gov.
How to contact and follow your representative
Once you find your representative, there are multiple ways to contact them.
Congressional offices will often use mailing lists and social media to share information about town halls or constituent services.
To reach your congressperson, calling the Washington office or district office closest to where you live will ensure you speak with someone. You won’t speak with the representative themselves, but someone who works for them will take note of your comments. It’s best to include information like your name and your address or the town you live in, so the staff knows that you are a person living in the area they represent.
