General municipal elections are being held around the Kansas City area on April 8. Many voters will head to their polling locations and find education-related items on their ballot.
The Beacon asked school board candidates from Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Hickman Mills, Raytown and North Kansas City school districts to answer questions about their positions, background and priorities for the district. Along with candidate Q&As, we also have explainers for several bond and tax increases on the ballot for schools across the metro.
Take a look and be informed before you head out to vote. Remember that no excuse early voting in Missouri is March 25-April 7 and Election Day is April 8.
Not sure whether you live in a specific district? Check your sample ballot to see what you’ll be voting for.
